R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The Paducah High School girls' golf team enjoyed an
  outstanding 2012-2013 season, advancing all the way to the
  University Interscholastic League Golf State Tournament for the
  first time in nearly three decades; and
         WHEREAS, After claiming third place at the regional
  tournament in Baird, the Lady Dragons moved on to the state
  competition, matching up against the other top 1A teams in Texas at
  Lions Municipal Golf Course in Austin on May 2 and 3; ably guided by
  coach Amy Bowles, the Paducah golfers carded a two-day total score
  of 841 to finish seventh; and
         WHEREAS, Mandy Mayo, who had earlier captured her third
  consecutive regional championship, led the way for Paducah at state
  with a score of 168, which placed her fourth in the individual
  standings; the team also benefited from the valuable contributions
  made by the other Lady Dragon golfers who took part in the
  tournament: Kaitlyn Deaton, Leslie Mayo, Chloe Smith, and Shelby
  Smith; and
         WHEREAS, Demonstrating hard work and an unwavering
  commitment to excellence, these dedicated student-athletes have
  proven that they belong among the top 1A golf squads in the Lone
  Star State, and they are a source of great pride to their school and
  to their many supporters in the local community; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Paducah High School girls' golf
  team on its seventh-place finish at the UIL Golf State Tournament
  and extend to the team's players and to Coach Bowles sincere best
  wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
