R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Jaime C. Thompson graduated from the Thurgood |
|
|
Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University on May 11, 2013, |
|
|
and is now embarking on an exciting new chapter in her life; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Barbara H. Thompson and James |
|
|
C. Thompson, Sr., Ms. Thompson has excelled at her studies, making |
|
|
the dean's list and receiving her juris doctor degree cum laude; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During her time at Thurgood Marshall, Ms. Thompson |
|
|
has been a writing advisor, an articles editor for the Law Review, |
|
|
and a member of the Caribbean Law Student Association; she has also |
|
|
been an active member of the Public Interest Law Association, which |
|
|
helps students and graduates prepare for and pursue a career in |
|
|
public service; this accomplished young woman is planning to |
|
|
practice immigration law; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Blessed with the talent, intelligence, and |
|
|
determination to succeed in a demanding profession, Jaime Thompson |
|
|
may indeed look forward to building on her studies to forge a |
|
|
rewarding career in the law; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jaime C. Thompson on her |
|
|
graduation from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law and extend to |
|
|
her sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, |
|
|
be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Thompson as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
