R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Cynthia S. Goble graduated from the Thurgood |
|
Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University on May 11, 2013, |
|
and is now embarking on an exciting new chapter in her life; and |
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Martha Jane Goble and the late Vance |
|
Albert Goble, Jr., Ms. Goble graduated summa cum laude from the |
|
University of Houston Honors College with a bachelor's degree in |
|
psychology; and |
|
WHEREAS, In 2010, Ms. Goble entered the Thurgood Marshall |
|
School of Law, where she has worked as a writing advisor in the |
|
Lawyering Process curriculum, as a research assistant for Professor |
|
Rebecca Stewart, and as a staff member of the TMSL Gender, Race and |
|
Justice Law Journal; in addition, she has clerked for U.S. District |
|
Judge Diana Saldana of the Fifth Circuit in Laredo; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Goble has also been an active member of the |
|
Public Interest Law Association, which helps students and graduates |
|
prepare for and pursue a career in public service; she plans to |
|
specialize in immigration, civil rights, tax, and bankruptcy law, |
|
and she is committed to assisting the most vulnerable members of |
|
society through pro bono work; and |
|
WHEREAS, Blessed with the talent, intelligence, and |
|
determination to succeed in a demanding profession, Cynthia Goble |
|
may indeed look forward to building on her studies to forge a |
|
rewarding career in the law; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Cynthia S. Goble on her graduation |
|
from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law and extend to her sincere |
|
best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Goble as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
