R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
  of Alfred P. Kanuch of Newark, Ohio, who passed away on May 9, 2013,
  at the age of 70; and
         WHEREAS, Al Kanuch was born on August 1, 1942, in Cleveland,
  Ohio, to Alfred Benedict and Mary Moran Kanuch; he worked for
  Licking Memorial Health Systems for nearly a quarter of a century,
  serving as a stationary engineer and a licensed plumber and
  maintaining the campus grounds and buildings; and
         WHEREAS, Dedicated to his community, Mr. Kanuch was active in
  the local Republican Party and served on the development council of
  Licking Memorial Health Systems and the board of directors of the
  Multi-County Juvenile Detention Center in Lancaster; he was also a
  member of a local Elks Lodge and served as Past Exalted Ruler; he
  contributed significantly to the Elks National Foundation and
  helped to start the Special Wish Foundation of Licking and Knox
  Counties and the Needy Children's Christmas Party; and
         WHEREAS, In his spare time, Mr. Kanuch liked to golf and to
  travel to Texas and Tennessee; above all else, he enjoyed spending
  time with his family, which included his wife of 24 years, Barbara,
  his children, Kelley, Lee, and Renee, his stepchildren, Gail,
  Bruce, Dana, and Darcie, and his eight grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Known for his kindness and generosity, Al Kanuch
  lived a life that was rich in the intangibles that matter most, and
  he is deeply missed by all those who held him dear; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Al Kanuch and extend
  sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his wife,
  Barbara Kanuch; to his children, Kelley Kanuch, Lee Kanuch Connors
  and her husband, Scott, and Renee Kanuch Holmes and her husband,
  Bruce; to his stepchildren, Gail Ripko Hall, Bruce Ripko, Dana
  Calloway, and Darcie Wolfe; to his grandchildren, Ian and Kathryn
  Connors, Briana and Conner Holmes, Jordan and Jesse Calloway, Brice
  Wolfe Gant, and Josh Hall; to his brother, Tom Kanuch; and to his
  other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Al Kanuch.
