R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Kevin Lee Matula has been participating in the 2013
  Frank L. Madla, Jr., and Irma Rangel Legislative Internship
  Program, and during the 83rd Legislative Session, he has ably
  served his fellow Texans as an aide in the office of State
  Representative Justin Rodriguez; and
         WHEREAS, Sponsored by St. Mary's University, this program
  offers outstanding undergraduate and graduate students an
  opportunity to earn academic credit while serving as full-time
  legislative interns in the offices of state representatives or
  senators and to gain experience working with the Texas Legislature;
  and
         WHEREAS, The son of Leon and Virginia Matula, Mr. Matula is a
  graduate of Karnes City High School and is now studying public
  administration and political science at St. Mary's; he has served
  as a delegate to the Texas Democratic Party State Convention and has
  actively worked on a number of policy concerns, including health
  care, senior issues, public and higher education, and criminal
  justice; this fall, he plans on continuing his studies and
  interning in Washington, D.C.; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of his tenure at the State Capitol,
  Kevin Matula has been of great assistance to Representative
  Rodriguez's office while acquiring knowledge of issues facing
  citizens of the Lone Star State; he has performed his duties as a
  legislative aide with skill, perseverance, and dedication, and he
  may indeed look forward to a rewarding future; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Kevin Lee Matula as a participant in the
  2013 Frank L. Madla, Jr., and Irma Rangel Legislative Internship
  Program and commend him for his achievements; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Matula as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
