R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Kevin Lee Matula has been participating in the 2013 |
|
|
Frank L. Madla, Jr., and Irma Rangel Legislative Internship |
|
|
Program, and during the 83rd Legislative Session, he has ably |
|
|
served his fellow Texans as an aide in the office of State |
|
|
Representative Justin Rodriguez; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sponsored by St. Mary's University, this program |
|
|
offers outstanding undergraduate and graduate students an |
|
|
opportunity to earn academic credit while serving as full-time |
|
|
legislative interns in the offices of state representatives or |
|
|
senators and to gain experience working with the Texas Legislature; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The son of Leon and Virginia Matula, Mr. Matula is a |
|
|
graduate of Karnes City High School and is now studying public |
|
|
administration and political science at St. Mary's; he has served |
|
|
as a delegate to the Texas Democratic Party State Convention and has |
|
|
actively worked on a number of policy concerns, including health |
|
|
care, senior issues, public and higher education, and criminal |
|
|
justice; this fall, he plans on continuing his studies and |
|
|
interning in Washington, D.C.; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of his tenure at the State Capitol, |
|
|
Kevin Matula has been of great assistance to Representative |
|
|
Rodriguez's office while acquiring knowledge of issues facing |
|
|
citizens of the Lone Star State; he has performed his duties as a |
|
|
legislative aide with skill, perseverance, and dedication, and he |
|
|
may indeed look forward to a rewarding future; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Kevin Lee Matula as a participant in the |
|
|
2013 Frank L. Madla, Jr., and Irma Rangel Legislative Internship |
|
|
Program and commend him for his achievements; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Matula as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
