R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Mayor's Top 100 Teens program in El Paso
  recognizes a diverse group of high school students each year in an
  effort to promote positive images of teens and to create a community
  that values them; and
         WHEREAS, Those teens selected for the initiative have
  demonstrated scholastic achievement and a commitment to their
  education, and they have overcome significant obstacles in their
  lives; and
         WHEREAS, Through her participation in the 2012-2013 Mayor's
  Top 100 Teens program, Brittney Barraza has engaged in such
  positive activities as helping to prepare meals for community
  shelters and volunteering for various nonprofit organizations; she
  has also been involved in a number of community parades and
  celebrations and has given back to area citizens as part of Global
  Youth Service Day; in addition, she has worked to raise awareness of
  traffic safety and driving risks as a leader in the Teens in the
  Driver Seat program; and
         WHEREAS, Brittney Barraza has distinguished herself as an
  outstanding role model for her peers, and she is a source of pride
  to her family, school, and hometown; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Brittney Barraza for her contributions as
  a participant in the 2012-2013 Mayor's Top 100 Teens program and
  extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Barraza as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
