R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Clint High School senior Cashlee Rayas qualified for |
|
|
the 2013 University Interscholastic League Track & Field State |
|
|
Meet; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This accomplished member of the Lions track team |
|
|
earned her trip to the state competition with her performance at the |
|
|
3A Region I meet on April 26 and 27 in Lubbock; she claimed victory |
|
|
in the 1,600-meter race, crossing the finish line in 5 minutes, |
|
|
19.35 seconds; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, On May 11, Ms. Rayas took her place alongside the |
|
|
other top athletes in Texas at the state meet in Austin and made a |
|
|
strong showing, finishing in fifth place; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Under the knowledgeable guidance of Coach Rosvel |
|
|
Martinez, Cashlee Rayas has distinguished herself as a competitor |
|
|
of exceptional ability and dedication, and she may take justifiable |
|
|
pride in her achievements; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Cashlee Rayas on qualifying for the |
|
|
2013 UIL Track & Field State Meet and extend to her sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Rayas as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
