R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Olamide Olowe and Adeola Akomolafe of El Dorado High
  School in El Paso qualified for the 2013 University Interscholastic
  League Track & Field State Meet; and
         WHEREAS, These accomplished members of the Aztecs track team
  earned their trip to the state competition with their performances
  at the 5A Region I meet on April 26 and 27 in Lubbock; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Olowe claimed victory in the 400-meter race with
  a time of 54.37 seconds, while Ms. Akomolafe was the runner-up in
  the 200 meters, crossing the finish line in 24.34 seconds; and
         WHEREAS, On May 11, both runners took their places alongside
  the other top athletes in Texas at the state meet in Austin; Ms.
  Olowe finished in sixth place in her event, and Ms. Akomolafe took
  fourth place; and
         WHEREAS, Under the knowledgeable guidance of Coach Macka
  Jones, these two young women have distinguished themselves as
  competitors of exceptional ability and dedication, and they may
  take justifiable pride in their achievements; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Olamide Olowe and Adeola Akomolafe
  on their success at the 2013 UIL Track & Field State Meet and extend
  to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
  for Ms. Olowe and Ms. Akomolafe as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
