R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Border Network for Human Rights, based out of El
  Paso, is one of the leading immigration reform and human rights
  advocacy organizations in the United States; and
         WHEREAS, BNHR has a large membership in West Texas that helps
  organize other civic-minded groups along the border and is the
  force behind the statewide Reform Immigration for Texas Alliance;
  and
         WHEREAS, A grassroots organization, BNHR creates progress
  through its willingness to work within the system to combat human
  rights and civil rights abuses and to bring about change to our
  broken immigration system; and
         WHEREAS, BNHR is currently participating in the nationwide
  effort to push once again for comprehensive immigration reform by
  educating elected officials at every level of government about the
  needs of border communities; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize the Border Network for Human Rights
  for its efforts to effect positive change for border and human
  rights issues in El Paso and the greater border area and extend to
  all those associated with the organization sincere best wishes for
  the future; and, be it further
         
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for BNHR as an expression of high regard by the Texas House
  of Representatives.
