R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Charles and Marietta Garrett of Lubbock celebrated |
|
|
their 60th wedding anniversary on May 14, 2013, and they may indeed |
|
|
reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Charles Garrett and the former Marietta Cantrell |
|
|
exchanged the vows of matrimony in Clovis, New Mexico, in 1953, and |
|
|
over the course of their marriage, they have found in each other a |
|
|
loving life partner; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Garrett count among their blessings a |
|
|
fine family that includes three children and their spouses, Terri |
|
|
McIlraith and her husband, Mike, Todd Garrett and his wife, Ashley, |
|
|
and David Garrett and his wife, Shannon, as well as seven |
|
|
grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For six decades, Charles and Marietta Garrett have |
|
|
brought to their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion, and it |
|
|
is a pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Charles and Marietta Garrett on |
|
|
their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Garrett as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
