R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Sarah Story is graduating as the salutatorian of the |
|
|
2013 senior class of Hargrave High School in Huffman; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only |
|
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
|
highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction, |
|
|
Ms. Story demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of |
|
|
subjects, and the rewards of the countless hours she has devoted to |
|
|
her studies are myriad; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In addition to her academic pursuits, Ms. Story is |
|
|
a member of the National Honor Society and has been active in the |
|
|
LEO Club, the Ovation Show Choir, and the Christian Student Union; |
|
|
she distinguished herself at the University Interscholastic League |
|
|
State Solo and Small Ensemble competition for piano, and she |
|
|
qualified for regional UIL Academics in both 2011 and 2013; |
|
|
moreover, she was named the Hargrave 12th Grade Student of the Year; |
|
|
after graduation, she plans to major in biomedical sciences at |
|
|
Texas A&M University; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents Mike and Cindy Story, |
|
|
Sarah Story has earned the respect and admiration of her teachers |
|
|
and classmates at Hargrave High, and her exceptional scholastic |
|
|
ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have opened the |
|
|
way to limitless opportunities for this remarkable young Texan; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Sarah Story on being named |
|
|
salutatorian of the Hargrave High School Class of 2013 and extend to |
|
|
her sincere best wishes for continued success as she begins the next |
|
|
exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Story as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
