R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The Mineola Chamber of Commerce honored Warren Brown
  as the Man of the Year at its annual banquet on April 6, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, A prominent figure in his community, Mr. Brown is a
  member of the Mineola Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors,
  president of the Mineola Industrial Foundation, and chair of the
  Mineola Economic Development team; he is also a Rotarian and the
  member of various other service organizations; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Brown is president of the board for Grace
  Community Healthcare Ministry, and he has selflessly volunteered
  his time, talents, and resources to help the organization best meet
  the needs of underserved residents; moreover, he chairs the search
  committee investigating the possibility of an urgent care medical
  facility for the area; he is a valued member of the First Baptist
  Church of Mineola and has served as chair of the HVAC study and
  implementation committee and as a member of the finance and
  stewardship committees; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of an impressive career in the
  financial services industry, Mr. Brown has held key positions on
  the executive teams of banks in both Arizona and Texas, and he is
  now a commercial loan consultant to City National Bank; he earned
  his bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Missouri
  and completed the executive program at the Graduate School of
  Credit and Financial Management at Dartmouth College in New
  Hampshire; and
         WHEREAS, This Missouri native grew up on a farm north of
  St. Louis and also spent much of his childhood in Jacksonville,
  Texas, where his mother's ancestors settled before the Civil War;
  on a fortuitous trip to California in 1963, he met his future wife,
  Marilyn, and they were joined in matrimony three years later;
  today, he delights in sharing life's special moments with a fine
  family that has grown to include six children, Cathy Brown Lengua
  and her husband, Jose, Christopher Robert Brown and his wife,
  Shanan, Charles Warren Brown and his wife, Megan, Julia Brown Banks
  and her husband, Chad, Sueanne Brown Bardwell and her husband,
  Kevin, and Warren Robert Brown II, as well as eight treasured
  grandchildren, Zak, J. T., Megan, Christopher, Boyd, Gavin,
  Gabriel, and Gage; Mr. Brown enjoys gardening, landscaping, and
  woodworking, among other leisure pursuits; and
         WHEREAS, The citizens of Mineola have greatly benefited from
  Warren Brown's volunteerism and civic engagement, and he is indeed
  deserving of this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Warren Brown on his selection as
  Man of the Year by the Mineola Chamber of Commerce and extend to him
  sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Brown as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
