R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Public Relations Society of America is hosting
  two significant professional educational conferences in Austin
  from June 5 to 11, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, Considered the nation's largest community of public
  relations and communications professionals, the PRSA has a
  membership of approximately 21,000; the organization provides
  training, sets standards of excellence, and upholds principles of
  ethics for the global public relations profession; in addition, it
  is a leading industry advocate for greater understanding and
  adoption of public relations services; and
         WHEREAS, In June, the PRSA Austin Chapter is hosting a
  conference for the PRSA Southwest District, which includes 14
  chapters across Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma,
  and Texas; the PRSA Counselors Academy, an institution of nearly
  350 senior public relations counselors, is also hosting its annual
  national conference; and
         WHEREAS, Both of these conferences are designed to help
  public relations professionals improve their skills and expand
  their knowledge of emerging trends and innovative concepts, and it
  is indeed a pleasure to welcome the participants to Austin; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize June 5-11, 2013, as Public Relations
  Week in Austin and extend to the members of the Public Relations
  Society of America sincere best wishes for an enjoyable and
  productive event; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Public Relations Society of America as an
  expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
