R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Locally owned restaurants add to the diversity and
  flavor of communities across the Lone Star State, and Barrera's
  Fried Chicken has been a favorite destination in Robstown for more
  than 35 years; and
         WHEREAS, Founded in 1978 by Gregorio and Azucanna Barrera,
  this family-run business has delighted legions of satisfied
  customers over the years with its distinctively spiced and breaded
  fried chicken, seasoned French fries, and soft rolls; patrons often
  call their orders in ahead of time to beat the long lines that form
  at the door; and
         WHEREAS, Several generations of the Barrera family have been
  involved in the operation of the establishment, including the
  original owners' sons, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and
         WHEREAS, Led today by Rene Barrera, Sr., and Rene Barrera,
  Jr., this Robstown institution continues to serve countless happy
  customers while contributing to the distinct quality of life in
  that community that is enjoyed by area residents and visitors
  alike; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Barrera's Fried Chicken for its
  contributions to Robstown and extend to the restaurant's owners and
  staff sincere best wishes for the future.
