R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Locally owned restaurants add to the diversity and |
|
flavor of communities across the Lone Star State, and Barrera's |
|
Fried Chicken has been a favorite destination in Robstown for more |
|
than 35 years; and |
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1978 by Gregorio and Azucanna Barrera, |
|
this family-run business has delighted legions of satisfied |
|
customers over the years with its distinctively spiced and breaded |
|
fried chicken, seasoned French fries, and soft rolls; patrons often |
|
call their orders in ahead of time to beat the long lines that form |
|
at the door; and |
|
WHEREAS, Several generations of the Barrera family have been |
|
involved in the operation of the establishment, including the |
|
original owners' sons, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and |
|
WHEREAS, Led today by Rene Barrera, Sr., and Rene Barrera, |
|
Jr., this Robstown institution continues to serve countless happy |
|
customers while contributing to the distinct quality of life in |
|
that community that is enjoyed by area residents and visitors |
|
alike; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Barrera's Fried Chicken for its |
|
contributions to Robstown and extend to the restaurant's owners and |
|
staff sincere best wishes for the future. |
