H.R. No. 2736

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Zoe Babe Alaniz is graduating as the valedictorian of the 2013 senior class of W. B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi; and

WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the highest academic standards; Ms. Alaniz has demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, with her favorites being English and math; in addition, she participated in numerous extracurricular activities, including the National Honor Society, the Key Club, Mu Alpha Theta, and the Superintendent's Student Ambassador Council; a talented athlete as well, she earned the title of UIL diving state champion in 2013; and

WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents Denise and Jaime Alaniz, Ms. Alaniz will continue her education at Texas A&M University, where she plans to study mathematics, with the ultimate goal of attending medical school; and

WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Zoe Babe Alaniz has earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates, and her exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have opened the way to limitless opportunities for this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Zoe Babe Alaniz, valedictorian of the W. B. Ray High School Class of 2013, and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Alaniz as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
