R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Kaitlyn E. Upton is graduating as the valedictorian |
|
|
of the 2013 senior class of Mary Carroll High School in Corpus |
|
|
Christi; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only |
|
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
|
highest academic standards; Ms. Upton has demonstrated a thorough |
|
|
understanding of a wide range of subjects, with her favorites being |
|
|
math and history; in addition, she participated in numerous |
|
|
extracurricular activities, including tennis, mock trial, the |
|
|
National Honor Society, and the student council; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents Aynn and James Upton, |
|
|
Ms. Upton will continue her education at Texas Christian |
|
|
University, where she plans to study biology; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Kaitlyn E. Upton has |
|
|
earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates, |
|
|
and her exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment |
|
|
to excellence have opened the way to limitless opportunities for |
|
|
this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Kaitlyn E. Upton, valedictorian of |
|
|
the Mary Carroll High School Class of 2013, and extend to her |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success as she begins the next |
|
|
exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Upton as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
