R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Locally owned restaurants add character and |
|
|
diversity to Texas communities, and Taco Rico has been a favorite |
|
|
destination in Corpus Christi for 18 years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded by Ramon Valdez in 1995, Taco Rico is now |
|
|
owned and operated by his brother, Ronnie; this popular eatery is |
|
|
especially known for its breakfast tacos and its barbeque fajitas; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In addition to its contributions to the local |
|
|
economy, Taco Rico has generously supported a number of community |
|
|
initiatives; a sponsor of a Junior League baseball team, the KSAB |
|
|
Fajita Cook-Off, and events at Moody High School, the restaurant |
|
|
also regularly holds benefits for people in need; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Taco Rico has earned a loyal following among the |
|
|
residents of Corpus Christi, and the Valdez family can take pride in |
|
|
the special role the business has played in the community for nearly |
|
|
two decades; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Taco Rico on its years of service to |
|
|
Corpus Christi and extend to Ronnie Valdez and his employees |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the restaurant as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
