R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, David C. Schanbacher is retiring as director of the |
|
|
Natural Resources Policy Division of the Office of the Texas |
|
|
Comptroller of Public Accounts on May 31, 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the agency in 2009, Mr. Schanbacher |
|
|
has advised the comptroller on environmental, energy, and |
|
|
endangered species initiatives that have the potential to affect |
|
|
state revenues and the Texas economy; he previously served as the |
|
|
chief engineer for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, |
|
|
where he also had been deputy director of the chief engineer's |
|
|
office, special assistant to the Office of Air Quality and the |
|
|
Office of the Executive Director, and a permit engineer in the New |
|
|
Source Review Program; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Schanbacher holds a bachelor's degree in |
|
|
chemical engineering from the University of Missouri and a master's |
|
|
degree in electrical engineering from The University of Texas at |
|
|
Austin; a registered professional engineer, he gained experience in |
|
|
the chemical and oil and gas industries before entering the public |
|
|
sector in 1992 as an employee of the Texas Air Control Board; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, David Schanbacher has earned the respect and |
|
|
appreciation of his coworkers over the course of his tenure in state |
|
|
government, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well |
|
|
spent as he prepares to embark on the next exciting chapter of his |
|
|
life; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate David Schanbacher on his |
|
|
retirement from the Office of the Texas Comptroller of Public |
|
|
Accounts and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, |
|
|
be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Schanbacher as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
