R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, During the 83rd Legislative Session, Elizabeth |
|
Deiandria Smith has ably served her fellow Texans as an intern in |
|
the office of State Representative Alma Allen; and |
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Smith has contributed |
|
to the workings of state government firsthand; in addition to |
|
learning more about the legislative process and the issues facing |
|
citizens of the Lone Star State, she has gained valuable work |
|
experience in the field of public service; she was responsible for |
|
conducting legislative research, tracking bills, and communicating |
|
with constituents; and |
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Leon and Delores Smith of Grambling, |
|
Louisiana, Ms. Smith is a third-year law student at the Thurgood |
|
Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University; she also holds |
|
a bachelor's degree in biology from Grambling State University and |
|
a master's degree in education leadership and administration from |
|
Prairie View A&M University; active in her campus community, she is |
|
a member of the Phi Alpha Delta legal honor society, the Public |
|
Interest Law Association, and the Baylor Academy of the Advocate at |
|
St. Andrews; in addition, she has served as a judicial intern with |
|
the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals; and |
|
WHEREAS, This noteworthy young Texan has performed her duties |
|
as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is indeed |
|
deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Elizabeth Deiandria Smith for her |
|
service as a legislative intern in the office of State |
|
Representative Alma Allen and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
|
continued success in all her future endeavors; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Smith as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
