R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Olin Moody of Crawford High School achieved great |
|
|
distinction by qualifying for the 2013 University Interscholastic |
|
|
League Track & Field State Meet in the 800-meter run; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Moody earned a place among the top athletes in |
|
|
Texas as a result of his superb showing at the 2A Region II |
|
|
competition, which took place at Tarleton State University in |
|
|
Stephenville on April 26 and 27; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Under the guidance of coach Delbert Kelm, Mr. Moody |
|
|
set a personal best time of 1 minute, 56.69 seconds over the 800 |
|
|
meters to take first place; he was also part of the Crawford |
|
|
1,600-meter relay squad that finished third at Stephenville; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By claiming a regional title and gaining the chance |
|
|
to participate in the state meet in Austin, Olin Moody has realized |
|
|
a goal that he has worked toward throughout the season, and he may |
|
|
indeed take justifiable pride in this outstanding accomplishment; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Olin Moody on qualifying for the |
|
|
UIL Track & Field State Meet in the 2A 800-meter event and extend to |
|
|
him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Moody as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
