R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, May 3, 2013, marked the 60th wedding anniversary of |
|
|
Lawrence and Aileen Lumpkin of China Spring, providing a fitting |
|
|
opportunity to reflect on their memorable journey together as |
|
|
husband and wife; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Lawrence Lumpkin and the former Aileen Stanford were |
|
|
joined in matrimony in 1953 at a ceremony held in Axtell; the |
|
|
parents of Jo Michalak, Susan Koerth, and the late Michael Lumpkin, |
|
|
they have welcomed 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren into |
|
|
their family; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, the couple |
|
|
owned and operated Mosley Floorsweep Company; today, Mr. Lumpkin is |
|
|
retired from the Rainbo Baking Company and Mrs. Lumpkin is retired |
|
|
from Hancock Fabrics; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The 60 years of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Lumpkin |
|
|
have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and |
|
|
commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who |
|
|
know them; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Lawrence and Aileen Lumpkin on |
|
|
their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Lumpkin as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
