R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately convey the immense sorrow |
|
felt at the loss of Thomas Lee Hultgren of New Braunfels, who passed |
|
away on February 14, 2013, at the age of 49; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Robert Karl Hultgren and Shirley Jean |
|
Hultgren, "Tommy" Hultgren was born in Alamogordo, New Mexico, on |
|
March 30, 1963; at the age of eight, he moved with his family to San |
|
Antonio, where he grew up and established himself as a |
|
tried-and-true Texan; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Hultgren, after attending North Texas State |
|
University, developed a passion for photography while working for |
|
the Denton Record-Chronicle; his gift for capturing people and |
|
places was carried on throughout his life, with stints at the |
|
Kerrville Daily Times and the San Antonio Light and eventually as a |
|
freelance photographer for The Associated Press, the former |
|
Southwestern Bell telephone company, and H-E-B; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Hultgren's photographs were beyond merely |
|
artistic in nature; each snapshot embodied his perspective on life, |
|
effortlessly capturing what seemed commonplace and turning it into |
|
something special; his easygoing personality, paired with a |
|
generous heart, helped people feel comfortable and at ease and |
|
aided him in the preservation of countless perfect moments on film; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, He touched innumerable lives through his work and |
|
impressed all those who came to know him with his concern for |
|
others and his optimism; moreover, his love for others was also |
|
evident from the great devotion he showed to his wife and children; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, While his life ended far too soon, Thomas Hultgren |
|
brought abundant joy to his loved ones, and his legacy inspires all |
|
who presume themselves ordinary to carry on in extraordinary |
|
fashion; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Thomas Lee Hultgren |
|
and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his |
|
wife, Julie Jerome; to his mother, Shirley Hultgren; to his four |
|
children: sons, Ethan and Ansen Hultgren, stepson, Teddy Crimmins, |
|
and stepdaughter, Addie Crimmins; to his sisters, Susan Reyes and |
|
her husband, Jesse, and Jo Anne Hultgren; to his brothers, Robert |
|
Hultgren and his wife, Joyce, and Mike Hultgren and his wife, |
|
Cheryl; and to his many other relatives and friends; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Thomas Lee |
|
Hultgren. |
