R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Felicia Juarez of Weslaco East High School has been |
|
named a Youth of the Year in the Head of the Class program overseen |
|
by the Rio Grande Valley Sector of the U.S. Border Patrol; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Head of the Class program recognizes outstanding |
|
seniors at 57 high schools in the Rio Grande Valley every month; |
|
just three students are chosen as Youths of the Year annually; and |
|
WHEREAS, A leader among her peers, Ms. Juarez has been |
|
offered full scholarships to a number of institutions of higher |
|
learning, including Baylor University, the University of Richmond |
|
in Virginia, Wesleyan University in Connecticut, and Johns Hopkins |
|
University in Maryland; after her selection is made, she plans to |
|
devote her college studies to a major in biology or physics; and |
|
WHEREAS, Felicia Juarez can reflect with pride on her |
|
academic record and history of achievement, and she may indeed look |
|
with anticipation toward a promising future; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Felicia Juarez on her selection as |
|
a 2013 Youth of the Year by the U.S. Border Patrol and extend to her |
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Juarez as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
