R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Austin Keeton, a 2012 graduate of Borger High |
|
|
School, placed first in the University Interscholastic League Class |
|
|
3A Ready Writing competition at the academic state meet in the |
|
|
spring of 2012; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A senior at the time, Mr. Keeton was the victor in a |
|
|
field that included students from more than 190 Texas schools; he |
|
|
distinguished himself in the arts as well, reaching the Texas |
|
|
Visual Arts Scholastic Event state contest that same year; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Keeton now attends Oklahoma State University, |
|
|
where he is a Freshman Research Scholar studying biochemistry and |
|
|
molecular biology; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, To perform at the highest level in statewide |
|
|
academic competition requires not only skill and intellect but also |
|
|
exceptional dedication, and Mr. Keeton may reflect with pride on |
|
|
this notable achievement; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Austin Keeton on placing first in |
|
|
the 2012 University Interscholastic League 3A Ready Writing contest |
|
|
and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Keeton as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
