R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The girls' cross-country team from Bushland High
  School captured the 2012 University Interscholastic League 2A state
  championship with an exceptional performance at the state meet on
  November 10, 2012; and
         WHEREAS, Three of the school's runners finished in the top
  20, and two others made it into the top 50, for a total score of 70;
  that placed Bushland 27 points ahead of runner-up Comanche High
  School and secured the state title for the Lady Falcons in their
  first team appearance at the UIL Cross-Country State Championships;
  and
         WHEREAS, Bushland was paced by freshman Aundera Schroder,
  whose time of 12:23 was the sixth fastest in the event; joining her
  in the top 20 were Kenzie Schaffer at 12:42 and Cortnie Grauel at
  12:51, with Morgan Lackey, Ellie Cornett, Madison Berry, and
  Stormie Fuentes rounding out the state meet lineup; and
         WHEREAS, Excelling through a true team effort, the Lady
  Falcons also received valuable contributions throughout the season
  from Bailee Barber, Celeste Barton, and Randa Stone, all of whom
  served as alternates for the UIL championship event; coach Kevin
  Ufford was instrumental in helping Bushland reach the pinnacle of
  success, and manager Ashton Miller offered dedicated support to the
  athletes in the course of their triumphant 2012 campaign; and
         WHEREAS, The talented young women of the Lady Falcons
  cross-country team have earned great distinction for themselves and
  for their community, and they will cherish their memories of this
  outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Bushland High School girls'
  cross-country team on winning the 2012 UIL 2A state championship
  and extend to the team's runners, coach, and manager sincere best
  wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
