R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Ellie Daniels of Stratford High School placed fifth |
|
|
in the University Interscholastic League Class 1A Feature Writing |
|
|
competition at the academic state meet in the spring of 2012; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Daniels was a standout in a field that included |
|
|
students from more than 400 Texas schools; at the state meet, she |
|
|
won high marks from the judges for the story that she composed, |
|
|
based on a biographical sketch that she was provided and on a live |
|
|
interview that she helped conduct with the subject; in addition to |
|
|
competing in UIL, she has written for the Elk Express, the Stratford |
|
|
High School newspaper; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, To perform at the highest level in statewide |
|
|
academic competition requires not only skill and intellect but also |
|
|
exceptional dedication, and Ms. Daniels may reflect with pride on |
|
|
this notable achievement; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ellie Daniels on placing fifth in |
|
|
the 2012 University Interscholastic League 1A Feature Writing |
|
|
contest and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Daniels as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
