R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Laura Trevino Rodriguez of L. C. Smith Elementary |
|
School in Raymondville received fitting recognition when she was |
|
named the Elementary Teacher of the Year by the Pharr-San |
|
Juan-Alamo Independent School District; and |
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas-Pan American, |
|
Laura Rodriguez worked with social service agencies for 12 years |
|
before embarking on her career in education; she joined the faculty |
|
of Smith Elementary in 2004 and currently teaches second grade; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Rodriguez's educational philosophy revolves |
|
around a statement she first heard from her parents, "An education |
|
can never be taken away from you"; to ensure that her students |
|
understand the importance of their studies, she devises meaningful |
|
and relevant exercises and activities, and she also strives to make |
|
sure that each child in her classroom feels valued; because of her |
|
success, Ms. Rodriguez was named L. C. Smith's 2013 Teacher of the |
|
Year, and her classroom has served as a model for teachers and |
|
administrators, as well as instructional coaches; and |
|
WHEREAS, Laura Trevino Rodriguez exemplifies the dedication |
|
and commitment to excellence that are the hallmarks of our best |
|
teachers, and she is inspiring in her students a love of learning |
|
that will serve them well throughout their lives; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Laura Trevino Rodriguez on her |
|
selection as the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD 2013 Elementary Teacher |
|
of the Year and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
success with her vital work; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Rodriguez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
