R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Travis Miller has provided indispensable support to
  the office of State Representative Jose Menendez during the 83rd
  Regular Session; and
         WHEREAS, A participant in the UTSA Legislative Scholars
  Program, Mr. Miller has contributed to the workings of state
  government firsthand during his tenure as chief office
  administrator; he played an active role in helping manage
  Representative Menendez's legislative agenda, including a number
  of bills that were passed by the Texas House; in the course of his
  work, he has gained new insight into the legislative process and the
  issues facing the citizens of the Lone Star State while gaining
  valuable experience in the field of public service; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Miller is working toward his bachelor's degree
  in political science and plans to attend law school following
  graduation; named to the dean's list and the president's list at
  UTSA, he helped establish the school's Alpha Tau Omega chapter and
  participates in the Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor
  Society and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars; he gained
  previous experience as a government affairs intern for the San
  Antonio Apartment Association, where he researched city ordinances
  and legislation, and he has served as a coordinator of fund-raising
  events for the American Red Cross; and
         WHEREAS, Performing his legislative support duties for
  Representative Menendez with skill and dedication, Travis Miller
  has greatly benefited the constituents of House District 124, and
  he is indeed deserving of special recognition for his fine work;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Travis Miller for his service as a
  legislative intern in the office of State Representative Jose
  Menendez and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
  success and a bright future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Miller as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
