H.R. No. 2849

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Clarissa M. Martinez is graduating as the valedictorian of the 2013 senior class at Agua Dulce High School; and

WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the highest academic standards; Ms. Martinez has demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, with her favorite being calculus; in addition, she participated in numerous extracurricular activities, including the cheer and dance teams and a number of community service projects; she served as president of the National Honor Society and the senior class as well; and

WHEREAS, The daughter of Armando and Melba Martinez, Ms. Martinez plans to continue her education at The University of Texas at Austin to study engineering; and

WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Clarissa M. Martinez has earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates at Agua Dulce High School, and her exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have opened the way to limitless opportunities for this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Clarissa M. Martinez, valedictorian of the Agua Dulce High School Class of 2013, and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Martinez as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
