R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, The Very Reverend Pete T. Elizardo is being honored |
|
|
as an Angel of the Arts by the Corpus Christi Cathedral at the Angel |
|
|
of the Arts Banquet Cathedral Showcase on Broadway on June 14, 2013, |
|
|
at St. Joseph's Hall in Corpus Christi; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A longtime patron of the arts, Reverend Elizardo is |
|
|
particularly deserving of this recognition for his ardent support |
|
|
of the Cathedral Concert Series and Music Ministry at the Corpus |
|
|
Christi Cathedral; his guidance has been instrumental to the |
|
|
success of this endeavor, and his generosity will be felt for years |
|
|
to come; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In addition to his work in the arts, Reverend |
|
|
Elizardo has served as Cathedral rector for more than 12 years, and |
|
|
his wholehearted commitment to his ministry has touched the lives |
|
|
of countless people; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Reverend Elizardo's leadership has made him an |
|
|
influential figure in the arts community, and it is a privilege to |
|
|
recognize his outstanding contributions to the cultural vitality of |
|
|
the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Very Reverend Pete T. Elizardo |
|
|
on his selection as an Angel of the Arts by the Corpus Christi |
|
|
Cathedral and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Reverend Elizardo as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
