R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Sunset Advisory Commission staff |
|
provided vital assistance to the 83rd Texas Legislature in its |
|
consideration of Senate Bill 213, the sunset bill for the Texas |
|
Board of Criminal Justice, the Texas Department of Criminal |
|
Justice, the Windham School District, the Board of Pardons and |
|
Paroles, and the Correctional Managed Health Care Committee; and |
|
WHEREAS, Established in 1977, the Sunset Advisory Commission |
|
periodically reviews the policies and programs of more than 150 |
|
government agencies, with the goal of identifying and eliminating |
|
waste, duplication, and inefficiency; in addition to questioning |
|
the need for each agency, it considers innovative changes that |
|
might improve operations and activities; and |
|
WHEREAS, Under the leadership of Sunset Commission agency |
|
director Ken Levine, team members responsible for review of these |
|
criminal justice agencies include Jennifer Jones, project manager |
|
and supervisor, Joseph Reed, analyst, Eric Beverly, analyst, Faye |
|
Rencher, analyst, and Dawn Roberson, administrative staff; they |
|
each demonstrated the utmost professionalism in connection with the |
|
consideration of S.B. 213, and their extraordinary thoroughness, |
|
expertise, and willingness to be available at all hours were |
|
invaluable during the legislature's deliberations; and |
|
WHEREAS, These praiseworthy members of the Sunset Advisory |
|
Commission staff uphold high standards of public service, and |
|
through their exceptional skill and dedication, they have |
|
contributed immeasurably to the efficiency and accountability of |
|
state government; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend the Sunset Advisory Commission staff |
|
members on the criminal justice agencies sunset team for their |
|
outstanding work and extend to them sincere best wishes for the |
|
future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the commission staff as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
