R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The girls' cross-country team from Sunray High
  School turned in a fine performance to finish in sixth place among
  the 1A schools participating in the University Interscholastic
  League State Championships, held on November 10, 2012, in Round
  Rock; and
         WHEREAS, The Bobcats recorded a cumulative time of 1 hour, 7
  minutes, 51.54 seconds, with an average individual time of 13
  minutes, 34.31 seconds; and
         WHEREAS, Sunray's outstanding showing was the result of a
  superb team effort; the Bobcats were paced by Lindsey Williams, who
  finished the course in 12 minutes, 50.06 seconds, and she was
  followed by Mayra Trejo, Melissa Corbin, Kimberly Grajeda, Miriam
  Mendoza, Samantha Corbin, and Caitlin Williams; and
         WHEREAS, The success attained by the Sunray High
  cross-country runners is a testament to their hard work and
  commitment to excellence, and they may reflect with pride on their
  notable achievement; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Sunray High School girls'
  cross-country team on its sixth-place finish among the 1A
  competitors at the 2012 UIL State Championships and extend to the
  runners and coaching staff sincere best wishes for continued
  success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
