R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Students from the Lorena High School FFA |
|
|
distinguished themselves in competition at the 2013 Invitational |
|
|
Career Development Events; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, At the contest held at McLennan Community College, |
|
|
the Milk Quality and Products Team, which included Chantel |
|
|
Clabaugh, Ashlee Handley, Brittany Jones, Hailey Ford, and Lane |
|
|
Michna, won first place, while Jacob Mathis, Jeremy Bauer, Alex |
|
|
Scarborough, Cody George, and Connor Rossow earned ninth place for |
|
|
their work on the Meats Evaluation Team; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Farm Business Management Team, consisting of |
|
|
Tino Palmer, Thomas Spiher, Blake George, and Garrison Jamison, was |
|
|
named sixth overall at the event at Tarleton State University, |
|
|
where the Equine Judging Team of Blake Boiles, Shirley Stewart, |
|
|
Sarah Bohannon, Brooke Boiles, and John Botello earned 11th place; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The promising young Texans of the Lorena High School |
|
|
FFA have demonstrated skill and initiative, and their record of |
|
|
achievement is a source of great pride for their school and |
|
|
community; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor the Lorena High School FFA members for |
|
|
their performance at the 2013 Invitational Career Development |
|
|
Events and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
