R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Catherine Boyce has stepped down as organist of |
|
|
First Baptist Church of Robinson after a truly remarkable tenure of |
|
|
48 years, and she was honored at a retirement reception on May 5, |
|
|
2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Organ music contributes immeasurably to the |
|
|
spiritual enrichment provided by a church service, and generations |
|
|
of congregants at First Baptist have greatly benefited from the |
|
|
talent and enthusiasm that Mrs. Boyce has brought to her playing; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, As she moves from the organ bench out into a pew, |
|
|
Mrs. Boyce may take a moment to look back on the hundreds of Sundays |
|
|
when she brought such joy to so many people, and it is fitting that |
|
|
we join with the Robinson congregation in honoring her; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Catherine Boyce on the occasion of |
|
|
her retirement as the organist of First Baptist Church of Robinson |
|
|
and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mrs. Boyce as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
