R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Macey McMinn of Hewitt has been crowned the 2013 |
|
|
Miss Heart O' Texas Fair & Rodeo; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In fulfilling the duties of her new role, Ms. McMinn |
|
|
will represent the Heart O' Texas Fair & Rodeo at festivals, |
|
|
fund-raisers, parades, and other community events; this |
|
|
accomplished young woman has been associated with the Fair & |
|
|
Rodeo's Sweethearts and Mascots for the past three years, and as a |
|
|
member of that group, she has served as a public relations |
|
|
ambassador for the Heart O' Texas organization, as well as |
|
|
performed extensive community service; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Steve and Debbie McMinn, Macey |
|
|
McMinn is a junior at Midway High School, where she participates in |
|
|
the Student Council, Family, Career and Community Leaders of |
|
|
America, HOSA--Future Health Professionals, Business Professionals |
|
|
of America, and the Diamond Darlings spirit organization; a member |
|
|
of the National Honor Society, she has received an Academic Merit |
|
|
Patch, an Academic Letter Jacket, and a Panther Pride Award; in |
|
|
addition to numerous school activities, she is involved in the |
|
|
First Baptist Church of Woodway youth group, with which she will do |
|
|
mission work in Namibia this summer; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Selected from an outstanding field of contestants, |
|
|
Macey McMinn will carry the banner of the Heart O' Texas Fair & |
|
|
Rodeo with poise and grace, and it is a privilege to recognize her |
|
|
as she embarks on what is sure to be an exciting and eventful year; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Macey McMinn on her selection as |
|
|
the 2013 Miss Heart O' Texas Fair & Rodeo and extend to her sincere |
|
|
best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. McMinn as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
