R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Ann Marie Dunlap of Crawford High School
  accomplished the rare feat of becoming state champion in two events
  with her remarkable performance on May 11, 2013, at the University
  Interscholastic League Track & Field State Meet in Austin; and
         WHEREAS, Capping off her junior year of track competition in
  unforgettable fashion, Ms. Dunlap first lined up against the other
  eight state qualifiers in the 2A 800-meter run; she surged to the
  lead in the third turn of the race and never gave it up, crossing the
  finish line in 2 minutes, 18.83 seconds, to claim her first gold
  medal of the day; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Dunlap was back on the track three and a half
  hours later for the 1,600 meters; once again, she quickly
  accelerated to the front of the pack and soon left her opponents far
  behind, recording a time of 5 minutes, 10.95 seconds, and besting
  the second-place runner by more than five seconds; and
         WHEREAS, Guided by coach Jason Buie, Ann Marie Dunlap has
  proven herself one of the premier high school middle-distance
  runners in Texas, and she will surely cherish the memory of her dual
  titles for years to come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Ann Marie Dunlap on becoming the
  2013 2A state champion in both the 800-meter and 1,600-meter races
  at the UIL Track & Field State Meet and extend to her sincere best
  wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Dunlap as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
