R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Angela Gutierrez of Hewitt has been inducted into |
|
the Phi Kappa Phi honor society; and |
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1897 at the University of Maine, Phi |
|
Kappa Phi is America's oldest and most selective collegiate honor |
|
society for all academic disciplines; membership is by invitation |
|
and requires nomination and approval by a chapter; only outstanding |
|
juniors and seniors who rank in the top 7.5 or 10 percent of their |
|
classes, respectively, may be admitted; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Gutierrez is pursuing a degree in nursing at The |
|
University of Texas at El Paso; with her admittance, she is among |
|
some 32,000 students, faculty, professional staff, and alumni to be |
|
initiated into the prestigious society each year; and |
|
WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has demonstrated hard work and |
|
a strong commitment to excellence in her educational endeavors, and |
|
she may indeed look with anticipation toward a bright and promising |
|
future; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Angela Gutierrez on her induction |
|
into Phi Kappa Phi and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
|
continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Gutierrez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
