R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Angela Gutierrez of Hewitt has been inducted into
  the Phi Kappa Phi honor society; and
         WHEREAS, Founded in 1897 at the University of Maine, Phi
  Kappa Phi is America's oldest and most selective collegiate honor
  society for all academic disciplines; membership is by invitation
  and requires nomination and approval by a chapter; only outstanding
  juniors and seniors who rank in the top 7.5 or 10 percent of their
  classes, respectively, may be admitted; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Gutierrez is pursuing a degree in nursing at The
  University of Texas at El Paso; with her admittance, she is among
  some 32,000 students, faculty, professional staff, and alumni to be
  initiated into the prestigious society each year; and
         WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has demonstrated hard work and
  a strong commitment to excellence in her educational endeavors, and
  she may indeed look with anticipation toward a bright and promising
  future; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Angela Gutierrez on her induction
  into Phi Kappa Phi and extend to her sincere best wishes for
  continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Gutierrez as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
