R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Karina Cabrera is graduating as the valedictorian of |
|
|
the Humble High School Class of 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only |
|
|
intellect and aptitude but also four years of dedication to the |
|
|
highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction, |
|
|
Ms. Cabrera demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range |
|
|
of subjects, and the rewards of the countless hours she has devoted |
|
|
to her studies are myriad; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In addition to her success in the classroom, |
|
|
Ms. Cabrera has contributed greatly to her school community as vice |
|
|
president of both the National Honor Society and the Health |
|
|
Occupations Students of America; she has also participated in the |
|
|
Spanish club and the Wildcatdets drill team; supported in her |
|
|
endeavors by her mother, Norma Cabrera, she will become the first |
|
|
member of her family to attend a four-year college when she begins |
|
|
her studies in molecular biology at Trinity University; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Karina Cabrera has earned the respect and admiration |
|
|
of her teachers and classmates at Humble High School, and her |
|
|
exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to |
|
|
excellence have opened the way to limitless opportunities for this |
|
|
remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Karina Cabrera, valedictorian of |
|
|
the Humble High School Class of 2013, and extend to her sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success as she begins the next exciting |
|
|
chapter of her life; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Cabrera as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
