R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Karina Cabrera is graduating as the valedictorian of
  the Humble High School Class of 2013; and
         WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only
  intellect and aptitude but also four years of dedication to the
  highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction,
  Ms. Cabrera demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range
  of subjects, and the rewards of the countless hours she has devoted
  to her studies are myriad; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to her success in the classroom,
  Ms. Cabrera has contributed greatly to her school community as vice
  president of both the National Honor Society and the Health
  Occupations Students of America; she has also participated in the
  Spanish club and the Wildcatdets drill team; supported in her
  endeavors by her mother, Norma Cabrera, she will become the first
  member of her family to attend a four-year college when she begins
  her studies in molecular biology at Trinity University; and
         WHEREAS, Karina Cabrera has earned the respect and admiration
  of her teachers and classmates at Humble High School, and her
  exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to
  excellence have opened the way to limitless opportunities for this
  remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Karina Cabrera, valedictorian of
  the Humble High School Class of 2013, and extend to her sincere best
  wishes for continued success as she begins the next exciting
  chapter of her life; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Cabrera as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
