R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, For nearly 15 years, LaFayette Moses-Wilkins has |
|
represented her fellow citizens as a member of the Dallas Area Rapid |
|
Transit Board of Directors; and |
|
WHEREAS, Appointed to the position in 1999 by the city |
|
councils of Plano and Farmers Branch, Faye Moses-Wilkins served as |
|
vice chair of the board in 2011 and currently serves as its |
|
secretary; in addition, she is chair of the Rail Program Committee |
|
and serves on other DART committees addressing bylaws, the rail |
|
corridor, planning issues, economic opportunity and diversity, and |
|
transit oriented development; and |
|
WHEREAS, This accomplished Texan previously owned and |
|
managed a real estate company and now is president of The Wilkins |
|
Group, a minority, woman-owned, national telecommunications |
|
installation firm based in Richardson; she is a member of numerous |
|
professional organizations, including the National Association of |
|
Women Business Owners, the National Association of Female |
|
Executives, and the Richardson Telecom Corridor's Technology |
|
Business Council, and she has given back to her community as a |
|
member of the Boys and Girls Club of Collin County; and |
|
WHEREAS, DART is dedicated to providing safe, efficient, and |
|
effective public transportation within Dallas and beyond, and Faye |
|
Moses-Wilkins is indeed deserving of recognition for her |
|
contributions to this vital effort; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend LaFayette Moses-Wilkins for her |
|
exemplary service as a member of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Board |
|
of Directors and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Moses-Wilkins as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
