H.R. No. 2888

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, High school graduation is one of life's pivotal milestones, and Preston Iglinsky is participating in that joyful occasion with his graduation from Winfree Academy Richardson in June 2013; and

WHEREAS, Deeply committed to his school, Mr. Iglinsky joined the student council in 2010 and served as its president from 2011 to 2013; he has benefited the wider community as well through his service to a variety of organizations, among them Relay for Life, the Network of Community Ministries, the Special Olympics of Texas, Pasta for Pennies, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and the Race for the Cure; and

WHEREAS, This dynamic young Texan has received many accolades for his achievements; for three consecutive years, he won first place in the Richardson Christmas Parade; he has also been named a 2013 Red Cord and Silver Cord Graduate, and under his leadership, the student council received two Outstanding Student Council awards from the Texas Association of Student Councils; and

WHEREAS, Preston Iglinsky has distinguished himself through his exceptional work ethic and through his perseverance in the face of adversity, and he exemplifies the spirit of determination expressed in his favorite quotation from Sir Winston Churchill's famous speech urging his compatriots to "Never give in"; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Preston Iglinsky on the occasion of his high school graduation and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Iglinsky as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
