R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, The Dallas County North Republican Club has been |
|
|
participating in political endeavors for 36 years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Richardson Republican Men's Club and |
|
|
the Richardson Women's Club established Dallas County North |
|
|
Republican Club in 1977, and the founding members included Dave and |
|
|
Judy Hankinson, Ray and Cynthia Noah, Frank and Martha Crowley, |
|
|
Virginia and Wes Steenson, Gene and Eloise Koonce, Stan and Jeanne |
|
|
McCaleb, Bill and Marianne Butler, and Bob and Martha Spence; the |
|
|
organization supports Republican candidates, works to register new |
|
|
voters, and holds public forums to build a more informed |
|
|
electorate; moreover, members have served as election judges and |
|
|
precinct chairs, and the group has been recognized for its service |
|
|
with several local awards; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the years, the club has benefited from the able |
|
|
leadership of its presidents, including Betty Linton, Martha |
|
|
Spence, Sally Urquhart, Mary Markley, Marianne Butler, Fran |
|
|
Cordell, Dottie Brown, Bill Butler, Bob Spence, June Rentmeester, |
|
|
Jeanne McCaleb, Kay Copeland, Darlene McClung, Margie Milford, Matt |
|
|
Jansha, Richard Steenson, Martha Ritter, J. R. Couch, Bruce Woody, |
|
|
Eloise Koonce, Bob Forman, Steve Seider, Bert Topper, Susan |
|
|
Fischer, Mickey Kennedy, Catherine Tolliver, Eddie Dees, Steve |
|
|
Mitchell, Vincent Gaines, and Eron Lynn; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Dallas County North Republican Club |
|
|
are contributing to their community through their grassroots |
|
|
political activism, and they may take justifiable pride in their |
|
|
rich history of civic engagement; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize the Dallas County North Republican |
|
|
Club and extend to its members sincere best wishes for the future; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the club as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
