R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at |
|
the tragic loss of Michael Anthony Ramos of Uvalde, who passed away |
|
on March 15, 2013, at the age of 19; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Mary and Sergio Ramos, Sr., Michael Ramos |
|
was born on December 17, 1993, in Uvalde; he attended Uvalde High |
|
School, where he lettered in varsity football and baseball for |
|
three years; a recipient of the Freddy Edwards Scholarship and the |
|
United States Army Reserve National Scholar/Athlete Award, he was |
|
enrolled in South West Texas Junior College at the time of his |
|
passing; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Ramos worked for Sherwin-Williams in Uvalde and |
|
had been previously employed by the city's National Fish Hatchery; |
|
always willing to help others, he often assisted with coaching |
|
Little League teams and gave sports advice to many aspiring young |
|
athletes; in addition to his interest in football and baseball, he |
|
enjoyed fishing, listening to music, and barbecuing; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although his time on this earth ended far too soon, |
|
Michael Ramos brought much joy into the lives of his loved ones, and |
|
he will forever be remembered with great tenderness and affection |
|
by all those who knew him; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Michael Anthony Ramos |
|
and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his |
|
parents, Sergio G. Ramos, Sr., and Mary Ramos; to his grandmother, |
|
Irene D. Duran; to his brother, Sergio E. Ramos, and his wife, |
|
Frances; to his sisters, Myra, Sara, Andrea, and Katelyn Ramos; to |
|
his girlfriend, Laura Gonzales; to his uncles, Juan Duran and his |
|
wife, Lucy, and Alex Duran; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Michael |
|
Ramos. |
