R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The well-being of the people of Texas depends on a
  vibrant, diversified economy, and independent businesses that are
  rooted in their communities and that reflect the spirit of those
  unique locales are to be commended for the vital role they play in
  furthering the prosperity of the Lone Star State; and
         WHEREAS, Since it was first established in 1893, the First
  National Bank of Winnsboro has taken great pride in its origins and
  continues to nurture those roots by maintaining a staff of loyal
  employees who have close ties to generations of local residents;
  its current management team of President Jan Mills and Senior Vice
  Presidents Wade Satterwhite and Sharlet Lovelady all are graduates
  of Winnsboro High School; moreover, the bank was recently named
  Business of the Year by the Winnsboro Area Chamber of Commerce; and
         WHEREAS, Deeply engaged in the community, FNB Winnsboro is a
  steadfast supporter of local churches, arts groups, youth sports
  clubs, and other civic organizations; since 2000, it has provided
  nearly $300,000 in scholarships to deserving high school seniors,
  and it has encouraged academic achievement with its "Pays for A's"
  program; in addition, FNB has hosted numerous collection efforts in
  behalf of the food bank, the blood bank, and children in need of
  school supplies; and
         WHEREAS, For more than a century, FNB Winnsboro has
  contributed to the economic vitality of its community, and the
  foundation of corporate citizenship on which it is built will help
  to ensure its existence well into the future; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the 120th anniversary of First
  National Bank of Winnsboro and extend to its directors, officers,
  and employees sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the bank as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
