R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, During the 83rd Regular Session, Tomas Leon has ably
  served his fellow Texans as an intern in the office of State
  Representative Alma Allen; and
         WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Leon has contributed to
  the workings of state government firsthand; in addition to learning
  more about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens
  of the Lone Star State, he has gained valuable experience in the
  field of public service while assisting with bill packets and
  tracking public education bills; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Sofia and Tomas Leon, Mr. Leon earned his
  bachelor's degree in Spanish and Latin American Studies from
  American University and hopes to continue his education at The
  University of Texas School of Law; he previously gained experience
  as an intern with the Mexican Embassy, the American Association of
  People with Disabilities, and Aunt Bertha, an organization focused
  on helping to expand access to social services; and
         WHEREAS, This noteworthy young Texan has performed his duties
  as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and he is indeed
  deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Tomas Leon for his service as a
  legislative intern in the office of State Representative Alma Allen
  and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Leon as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
