R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, During the 83rd Regular Session, Tomas Leon has ably |
|
|
served his fellow Texans as an intern in the office of State |
|
|
Representative Alma Allen; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Leon has contributed to |
|
|
the workings of state government firsthand; in addition to learning |
|
|
more about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens |
|
|
of the Lone Star State, he has gained valuable experience in the |
|
|
field of public service while assisting with bill packets and |
|
|
tracking public education bills; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The son of Sofia and Tomas Leon, Mr. Leon earned his |
|
|
bachelor's degree in Spanish and Latin American Studies from |
|
|
American University and hopes to continue his education at The |
|
|
University of Texas School of Law; he previously gained experience |
|
|
as an intern with the Mexican Embassy, the American Association of |
|
|
People with Disabilities, and Aunt Bertha, an organization focused |
|
|
on helping to expand access to social services; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This noteworthy young Texan has performed his duties |
|
|
as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and he is indeed |
|
|
deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Tomas Leon for his service as a |
|
|
legislative intern in the office of State Representative Alma Allen |
|
|
and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Leon as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
