R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Monika Winkler of Humble graduated as the |
|
|
valedictorian of the senior class of Holy Trinity Episcopal School |
|
|
in Houston in May 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only |
|
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
|
highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction, |
|
|
Ms. Winkler demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range |
|
|
of subjects, and the rewards of the countless hours she has devoted |
|
|
to her studies are myriad; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of proud mother Bonnie Walker, Ms. |
|
|
Winkler has further distinguished herself through her many |
|
|
extracurricular activities; a member of the National Honor Society, |
|
|
she was active with the student council and has volunteered |
|
|
numerous hours of service to better her community; in addition, she |
|
|
participated in school trips to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and |
|
|
Hawaii; this dynamic young woman has already completed collegiate |
|
|
level courses through San Jacinto College and plans to continue her |
|
|
education at Florida Southern College, studying pediatric |
|
|
medicine; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Monika Winkler has |
|
|
earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates at |
|
|
Holy Trinity Episcopal, and her exceptional scholastic ability, |
|
|
hard work, and commitment to excellence have opened the way to |
|
|
limitless opportunities for this remarkable young Texan; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Monika Winkler, valedictorian of |
|
|
the Holy Trinity Episcopal School Class of 2013, and extend to her |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success as she begins the next |
|
|
exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Winkler as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
