R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Demetris Tate, student of Paul Lawrence Dunbar High |
|
|
School won 1st place in the 2013 Safe City Art Contest; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Safe City is a district wide art competition tied to |
|
|
the "It's Not OK" campaign, where every year students compete to win |
|
|
the grand prize of a trip to Disney World including airfare, hotel, |
|
|
and $1000 to spend at the resort and theme park; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This is Demetris' 3rd year to compete in this |
|
|
competition; last year he received a Chairman's Choice Award and |
|
|
1st place on the High School Level at Dunbar; this year Demetris is |
|
|
the Grand Prize Winner; Demetris has won multiple art contests |
|
|
earning national and local attention to the Dunbar campus; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Safe City Competition is the most competitive |
|
|
art contest Dunbar enters; winning this contest sets Dunbar apart |
|
|
from the other programs in the Fort Worth ISD; now therefore be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Demetris Tate, winner of the 2013 |
|
|
Safe City Art Contest; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Tate as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
