R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, During the 83rd Legislative Session, Josiah Biggs
  has ably served his fellow Texans as a legislative aide in the
  office of State Representative Ruth Jones McClendon; and
         WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Biggs has interacted
  with stakeholders and agency directors to discuss policy and
  legislation, met constituents to hear their concerns, worked to
  craft bills and strategize their passage, and written talking
  points, bill analyses, and constituent correspondence; he has
  performed these duties with energy and intelligence, and his
  initiative and hard work have contributed greatly to the
  effectiveness of the representative's office; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Biggs has a bachelor's degree from John Brown
  University and a master's degree in technology commercialization
  from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at
  Austin; from 2007 to 2010, he served his nation at Fort Hood and in
  Maysan Province, Iraq, as a sergeant in the U.S. Army; in 2011,
  during the 82nd Legislature, he was an intern in the office of State
  Representative Mark Strama, and he has also worked as a volunteer,
  voter activation network manager, and field organizer for several
  political campaigns; and
         WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed his
  duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and he is
  indeed deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Josiah Biggs for his service as a
  legislative aide in the office of State Representative Ruth Jones
  McClendon and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
  success in all his endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Biggs as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
