H.R. No. 2985

R E S O L U T I O N

WHERE AS, The Nolan Catholic High School boys' and girls' track teams won multiple team and individual awards at the TAPPS track and field state championships in Waco, and these students are most deserving of special recognition for their outstanding performance; and

WHEREAS, The boys' track team took fourth, and individual state champions included Michael Batson in the 800m run, Barton Holdridge in the 400m run, and Michael Hoffman in the high jump; and

WHEREAS, The girls' track team took second, and individual state champions included Elizabeth Havenhill in the 800m run and Chelsea Classo in the 100m hurdles; and

WHEREAS, These talented students will undoubtedly continue to represent Nolan Catholic High School with dignity and class as they pursue additional achievements; and

WHEREAS, Placing at a state championship is the goal of all student-athletes, and these young men and women may take great pride in their state championship victories for years to come, drawing inspiration from their accomplishments as they undertake future challenges; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate the Nolan Catholic High School boys' and girls' track teams for their impressive performance at the 2013 TAPPS state track and field championships and extend best wishes to them for continued success in all their endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Nolan Catholic High School as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
